Legislation
Based on the current Dutch legislation and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Data Protection Authority Direct Students operates only based on an opt-in consent of talented students and associations. To reach the talented students only(email) addresses with given with permission of the study association, the student or student (fraternity) association, college or university are used.
At all times, there will be a possibility to unsubscribe in the emails sent to the student to unsubscribe from receiving career-related messages, and a limited number of emails is sendd to a target set of talented students to remain relevant and to ensure that there is no SPAM 'effect (unsolicited email).
There is never any question of sales of (email) addresses, so the databases remain pure and not blurred by the influence and messages of third parties who might cause a reduced value of the databases of talented students involved. There is an agreement that the addresses are "rented" for the specific selected target audience of talented students, in consultation with the parties that represent the students. So these associations, higher education institutions or universities can also say no to a campaign, if they do not deem the content of the campaign relevant.
This distinguishes Direct Students from other providers and list brokers who do not have this quality check.
